Designated Protection Zone in Production

An ESD-protected area (EPA) is a controlled zone designed to prevent electrostatic charging in order to protect sensitive electronic components.

Electronic components are made of extremely small structures and are therefore particularly vulnerable to electrostatic discharge: ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge).
An ESD event can damage or destroy circuits, potentially leading to partial or complete failure.
Such damage is often not immediately visible and may only become apparent over time.
